LONDON BRONCOS have parted company with head coach Jermaine Coleman ahead of their meeting with York City Knights next week.

Coleman's departure follows the Broncos' 28-12 defeat at Batley Bulldogs on Sunday, which left them in the relegation zone in the Betfred Championship.

The Broncos have endured a dramatic fall from grace since being relegated from Super League in 2019, and reverted to part-time status at the start of the current campaign.

Head of performance Mike Eccles will take over on an interim basis, with the Broncos facing a crucial trip to bottom club Workington on Thursday, June 2 before travelling to the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday, June 5.

Assistant Jy-mel Coleman has also left the capital club. Both Jermaine and Jy-mel played for York City Knights during their playing careers, with the former playing twice in 2003 and the latter featuring once in 2010.

London Broncos chairman David Hughes said: "On behalf of everyone at London Broncos, I would like to thank Jermaine and Jy-mel for all they have done during their time at the club.

"We wish them both every success in the future.

"Results this season have been below what we expect, and we share the frustration of our supporters.

"Consequently, we are committing to recruiting a full-time coach in the coming weeks who can help to fulfill our long-term objectives and support the club's success on and off the pitch."
