Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man said his house cleaner came across a long-forgotten lottery ticket he had purchased months earlier and it turned out to be a $1 million winner.

Khalil Soussa of Medford told Massachusetts State Lottery officials he purchased the $15,000,000 Money Maker scratch-off ticket from Tony's Convenience on Salem Street in Medford, but the ticket was lost and forgotten before he ever checked to see if it was a winner.

Soussa said his house cleaner found the ticket in a vase months later and presented it to him.

The player discovered the long-lost ticket was a $1 million winner.

Soussa said he plans to use his winnings to help a friend and give to charity.
