Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane has aimed a jibe at two Manchester United players by drawing comparisons to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

Marcus Rashford and Casemiro were given some time off during the international break as they were not away with their respective countries, and the pair jetted off to the USA to watch NBA basketball. Salah was in a similar boat as he was not involved in Egypt's AFCON qualifiers against Cape Verde and Botswana.

Salah did, however, take a trip to the UAE earlier this week to attend a book fair at the Expo Centre in Sharjah. Keane, though, was full of praise for the Egyptian and the shape he is in ahead of a crucial run of fixtures for Arne Slot's side.

"Doesn't he look in great shape? He looks like a really top professional, the shape of him," the former United defender told Sky Sports prior to Liverpool's Premier League match against Southampton. "We interviewed him after the game against United... he looks a proper top professional footballer doesn't he? Probably does everything right.

"I bet he didn't go to America last week for a few days off. He looks in great shape, what a top professional. He looks magnificent."

Liverpool have enjoyed a promising start to the 2024/25 season with nine wins from their opening 11 Premier League games. They were five points clear at the top of the table prior to Sunday's clash away at Southampton.

In Europe, they are top of the Champions League league phase table with a huge fixture against Real Madrid on the horizon. They're also enjoying success in the League Cup with a quarter-final against the Saints to come in December.

United, on the other hand, are set to begin a new era under manager Ruben Amorim, but there is work to do as they sit outside of the top 10. They have also only won one of their opening four Europa League matches this season.
