Lotto 6/49 winner takes home $10,200,000 and has one dream -- to go to the Super Bowl
Gary Muchula won the $10.2 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot from the Oct. 20 draw and he has one dream in mind, to go to the Super Bowl.
This football lover from Vancouver purchased his winning ticket from London Drugs at Park Royal. He was out picking up a newspaper when he decided to check his Lotto 6/49 ticket at a local gas station.
“I didn’t have my glasses and I thought, ‘that can’t be right,’” Muchula said. “I checked it three or four times and went up to the girl at the counter and said ‘I’m not sure, but I think I won the lottery!’”
The first person to find out about if $10.2 million win was his partner, who couldn't believe what she was hearing.
“She was walking the dog and I asked her to sit down," Muchula said. "I told her, ‘I just won the lottery!’”
In addition to hopefully going to the Super Bowl, Muchula wants to put some of his prize money towards a Christmas vacation in Barbados.
So far this year, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $76 million in winnings from Lotto 6/49. Muchula is the second player from B.C. to win a Lotto 6/49 jackpot in October.
Lotto 6/49 is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 7:30 p.m. PST/10:30 p.m. EST.
