The future Winter Olympic host nation has opted out of the seven-day session because the International Luge Federation rules state they can practice at the Sliding Center Sanki any time they like.

Germany's lugers did likewise prior to the 2012 World Championships in Altenberg and chose not to participate in the 2011 training week.

A total of 27 nations have, however, announced their intentions to take part at the new facility in Sochi, which will host the Games in 2014.
