Luton Town chief makes transfer confession about Hull City star after crucial Championship win
Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has revealed he considered bringing back Hull City defender Cody Drameh prior to his move to the MKM Stadium.
Drameh was a big success at Luton in their iconic promotion-winning season which saw them promoted through the play-offs after beating Coventry City on penalties at Wembley, playing 19 times, along with the whole game in the final.
Edwards says Drameh was a consideration after impressing at Kenilworth Road before opting to turn in a different direction and sign Issa Kabore on loan from Manchester City, one which also saw them sign Ryan Giles for a club record £5m fee from Wolves.

Giles would only play a handful of times in the top flight last season before joining City in January on loan before his move was made permanent in the summer, after the Tigers were obligated to pay a fee in the region of £4m.
Defender Drameh, who spent last season on loan with Birmingham City, was City's second arrival of the summer after Giles, arriving from Leeds United, and has since become a regular in Tim Walter's side.
“It’ll be nice to welcome a couple of those boys back, Cody and Gileo," Edwards said ahead of Saturday's 1-0 success against the Tigers, which saw Drameh impress on the left side of the Tigers' defence, though Giles remained an unused substitute, again.
"Cody, like we said about Ethan (Horvath) the other week when he came, played a big part in that success story, so it’ll be good to see them. Of course, it was in our minds (to sign him). He did well but in the end we discussed things and went down a different route. That’s no reflection on him at all, what he did for us, a fantastic lad and it will be lovely to see him.
“Last year, with a lot of our lads that came in, a lot of them were success stories. Not all of them can work out exactly how everybody wants, so that’s fine and that’s football. He was a great lad around the place, Ryan, and it will be nice to see him as well.”
