Lyndon Dykes has been stretchered off the training pitch in another blow to Scotland.

Steve Clarke is already without the services of Lewis Ferguson, Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey who couldn't be named in his squad for Euro 2024. Dykes will now be a major doubt for the summer tournament in Germany, unless the stretcher was purely precautionary.

Pictures taken this afternoon show the QPR star crumpled in a heap on the ground after pulling up with a problem. Clarke and Andy Robertson were seen consoling him and then a stretcher was brought on with the 28-year-old removed from the training pitch.

If Dykes was to be ruled out, that would leave Che Adams and Lawrence Shankland as the striking options. Clarke previously mentioned the Scotland under-21s squad would be on standby in case of any injuries and that could mean a call-up for Bristol City's Tommy Conway.

Other names included in the squad, like Stuart Armstrong, Kieran Tierney and Scott McTominay, had been sturggling with injuries but are expected to be fit to compete for a place in Clarke's XI for games against Germany, Switzerland and Hungary.
