While we may be enjoying a last blast of summer and basking in sunny weather, M&S has launched over 70 Christmas lines into stores this week, including last year's best-selling clementine flavoured gin liqueur in a fancy new light up gin bottle.

The gin liqueur with 23 carat edible gold leaf is priced at £18, and follows the runaway success of last year's sell-out Clementine Gin Liqueur Snow Globe. M&S is bringing back the gin liqueur in two flavours – Clementine and Rhubarb – in a new light up bottle.

Launching in stores this week (September 15), the bottle includes an LED light in its base, that once switched on illuminates the bottle's woodland scene and flickering edible gold leaf.

Product Developer, Jenny Rea said: "For me, the switching on of the Christmas lights is a huge festive moment, and in honour of this Yuletide tradition we are introducing a show-stopping, light-up snow globe gin liqueur, complete with edible gold leaf for that extra wow factor."

According to new research from YouGov, commissioned for M&S's 2020 Christmas Trends report, 13% of UK adults are already looking forward to Christmas more this year than in previous years, and 15% already believe they'll be stocking up earlier this year than normal.

M&S Food's Managing Director, Stuart Machin added: "As a nation we've all been through a lot this year. Our customers will want to celebrate Christmas and mark the end of the year with friends and family in the best way they can.

"Despite all the challenges of 2020, at M&S Food we have been diligently planning our Christmas ranges over the last year to develop what we truly believe is our best ever collection."
