DORCHESTER Town will play an in-house friendly on Friday evening after their fixture with Bideford AFC was cancelled.

The Robins are unable to raise a side for the July 1 contest, meaning Dorchester will now stage an intra-club game.

Dorchester have moved the kick-off time forward to 7.15pm with 30 minutes to be played each way.

It is the first chance for Magpies fans to see boss Glenn Howes' new squad in action.

Eight more pre-season friendlies are scheduled for the Magpies, with AFC Portchester visiting the Avenue on Tuesday, July 5.

Home games on consecutive Saturdays then sandwich a trip to Portland United, with Bridgwater United their sixth pre-season match.

Dorchester play host to Hamworthy and Yeovil in the final week of July before travelling to Weymouth on Saturday, July 30.

The Southern League Premier South season then begins on Saturday, August 6.
