Maher pleased with Blues' young strikers
SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is keeping a close eye on young strikers Max Fiddes and Henry Sandat.
The youth teamers both hit the back of the net in a midweek friendly at Ipswich Town.

And Maher has been impressed by their displays.
“I’ve been pleased with them,” said the Blues boss.
“At Concord they did ever so well and both scored against Ipswich too.
“We’ll have one or two of them around in training and see how they are.”
Maher is currently short of striking options with Harry Cardwell, Rhys Murphy and Harry Cardwell all still sidelined with injuries.
Blues are not expected to bring in another forward before Saturday's match at Solihull Moors.
