Man appears in court over 'police chase' in Bournemouth

A MAN has appeared in court following a ‘hit and run’ crash in Bournemouth.

Michael Humphreys, 41, admitted to failing to stop after a crash which saw multiple cars damaged in North Road.

Residents described hearing “squealing” and “bangs” when a Mazda hit parked vehicles the night of Monday, September 25.

He reportedly police on a chase through Bournemouth, starting in the area of Shelley Road East just before 9pm.

Appearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 27, Humphreys, of Bournemouth, also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence or insurance.

He indicated a guilty plea for aggravated vehicle taking without consent and driving dangerously.

He was also charged for failing to stop for police, however, entered no plea.

Humphreys will appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, October 27, for sentencing.
