It was only a couple hours after leaving court with pending stalking and harassment charges that David Crowe, a 33-year-old man from Seattle, was arrested on Wednesday for a third time in five days for suspiciously lurking near Taylor Swift’s New York City home.
The court had just granted Crowe supervised release before he promptly allegedly violated an order of protection the court had also granted, NBC reported. Prosecutors already alleged that Crowe has shown up to Swift’s building 30 times in the past two months despite being repeatedly asked to leave.
The calls that were made on Wednesday to police about a disorderly man outside the Tribeca building where Swift resides, which led to Crowe’s re-arrest, were similar to those authorities had received on Monday when Crowe was arrested again following an initial arrest over the weekend for allegedly trying to open a door at the building while the singer was away attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s football game.
Swift, who was named TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year for her global renown and influence, is no stranger to incidents of stalking and harassment. In 2022, a man was arrested for driving a car into the singer’s New York apartment building while intoxicated. Another stalker broke into her home and even took a nap in her bed during an incident in 2018.

Women in the public eye are particularly vulnerable to incidents of harassment. Earlier this month, a stalker was convicted of breaking into Ariana Grande’s home nearly 100 times throughout 2021.
“You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things,” Swift wrote in an article for ELLE in 2019. She also revealed that she regularly carries QuikClot army grade bandage dressing for gunshot and stab wounds, out of fear for her personal safety.
