Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has aimed a dig at Arsenal following their 2-2 draw on Sunday. The Premier League champions were left frustrated as the Gunners, with ten men, kept their threats at bay until the last minute of stoppage time.

Arsenal fought back from a goal down, as Erling Haaland netted his 100th goal for the club, thanks to first-half efforts from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel. However, Leandro Trossard was shown a second yellow card on the stroke of half-time for delaying the restart, leaving Mikel Arteta's side with a hill to climb to land an early Premier League marker.

The point for City saw them return to the top of the English summit, overtaking Liverpool - who returned to winning ways against Bournemouth - while Arsenal moved up to fourth. But post-match comments from the Portuguese international has seen the on-field fire boil over off the pitch.

Silva failed to compare City's rivalry with Liverpool, which spanned a five-year period during the Anfield clubs Premier League and Champions League successes. The 30-year-old took aim at the set-up from Arteta and their approach to the second-half.

"There was only one team that came to play football. The other came to play to the limits of what was possible to do and allowed by the referee, unfortunately," said Silva. "But at the end we got a draw, the best we could get considering the context of the last moments of the match.

"We're not happy as we wanted the three points, but personally I'm happy with the way we came to play and faced the game. I'm glad we always enter the pitch to try to win every match.

"The difference? I don't know," he added when asked about comparisons to the rivalries with Liverpool and Arsenal. "Maybe that Liverpool have already won the Premier League, Arsenal haven't. That Liverpool have won the Champions League, Arsenal haven't.

"Liverpool always faced us face to face to try to win the games, so from this perspective the games against Arsenal haven't been like the ones we had and have against Liverpool. So yes, maybe a different rivalry."
