Man City Team News: Injuries, suspensions and line-up vs Crystal Palace

Sergio Aguero is doubtful to face Crystal Palace on Saturday, though David Silva is back in contention for Manchester City.

Aguero was substituted late on during the 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough on Sunday and has had tests this week.

Silva has missed City's last two matches but took some part in training last Friday and a full week of preparations should mean he is in line to make a return at the Etihd Stadium.

MAN CITY INJURIES

Aguero is likely to miss the game with what is thought to be a groin injury, and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is definitely out with a calf injury.

Silva should be back in contention, as should John Stones, who has been suffering with a quadricep problem.

Ilkay Gundogan is sidelined with a serious knee injury.

MAN CITY POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

The three-man defensive system - or at least the version we saw at Middlesbrough - is almost certain to be shelved, with attacking midfielders, rather than wing-backs, likely to be reintroduced.

Jesus Navas, who has been offered a contract extension by City, and Gael Clichy were the wing-backs at the Riverside Stadium but did not offer nearly enough, and both Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane were brought on just after half-time.

Chelsea eye move for Morata

Both youngsters could start again on the wings, though if Silva is fit enough to start, Pep Guardiola may use Kevin De Bruyne on the right so he can deploy Silva and two deeper-lying players in the middle. However, De Bruyne played a full game at Boro and could be in need of a rest.

With Aguero expected to miss out, Gabriel Jesus will lead the line, as he did so successfully before his injury.

At the back, there may be a temptation to play Stones alongside Vincent Kompany, if both men are fit enough to start, though Nicolas Otamendi has improved of late.
