Manchester City host Chelsea at the Etihad knowing they can't afford to lose any more ground on Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

With Jurgen Klopp's side playing first on Saturday, the gap could be as great as 11 points come kick-off.

Pep Guardiola's side have suffered defeats to Norwich, Wolves and Liverpool this season and continue to struggle with their injury-hampered defence.

However, there’s hope Ederson will recover in time from a thigh strain.

Bernardo Silva is suspended following his one-match ban for his controversial tweet aimed at teammate Benjamin Mendy.

Chelsea: Christian Pulisic was forced to pull out of international duty with the US due to a hip injury, however, Chelsea are hopeful the winger will still be available.

Ross Barkley should be also be fit to return, while Jorginho returns from suspension.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Antonio Rudiger remain longer-term absentees.
