Man taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash as air ambulance called to the scene
A man has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash which closed a road and saw an air ambulance called to the scene.
Police closed a section of road in response to the collision in Ersham Road, Hailsham, near the junction with Saltmarsh Lane.
One of the people involved in the crash, described by police as a “young man” was taken to hospital by land following the incident despite the air ambulance being called for support.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “We attended a road traffic collision and a young man was taken to hospital by land.

“The road is still closed.”
The incident was first reported at around 6.30pm with the road remaining closed following the incident.
Police cars blocked a section of the road with cones and vehicles as part of the response to the incident.
South East Coast Air Ambulance and Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service were also approached for comment.
