Bruno Fernandes is set to be part of the Manchester United squad that faces Arsenal on Wednesday after being passed fit by manager Ruben Amorim. The club captain was a brief doubt for the game after he was seen wearing an ice pack on Sunday.

He played during United's 4-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford but limped off and ended up with ice on his ankle. That appears to have done the trick, though, with Amorim confirming that he is ready to go again, this time in north London.

"[Fernandes] is fit to play, I saw him this morning," United's new boss said on Monday. "He is a guy who doesn't need a lot of rest, he is prepared to play."

Amorim is also preparing to give Leny Yoro a first appearance in a matchday squad after an injury has delayed his debut so far. "We have one more training session to see it," he explained. "Maybe Leny Yoro is going to be in the squad.

"I felt he’s in a good moment now, his fitness is better, so I think he is going to be in the squad. We didn’t have too many trainings together. He’s training not alone but with a small group of players. He’s really fast but he’s a modern defender and that is good when you want to press high.

"I think he is a special talent but we have to be careful in this first moment. You have a lot of strikers, especially in this league, one-against-one. I think he can manage that. He’s very good with the ball so I’m really excited but we have to be careful. We have to manage the load and the minutes in the beginning but I’m really excited to see Leny Yoro playing."

There are other doubts for United, though. Victor Lindelof has been struggling for fitness since the international break whilst Tyrell Malacia is yet to get any minutes since making his return to the team.

Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Harry Maguire all featured off the bench against Everton. "The rest, I have to see," said Amorim. "Some players were tired so we have to assess tomorrow in training."

Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez will both be missing for United after picking up their fifth yellow card of the season. Arsenal themselves have some issues to solve, with Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori, Thomas Partey, and Mikel Merino all in doubt.
