Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand has named three teams he thinks will definitely make it into the Premier League’s top four positions this season.

Arsenal currently lead the way in the Premier League after winning ten of their first 12 matches, while defending champions Man City sit two points behind them in second position.

Third-placed Tottenham are going well under Antonio Conte, despite discontent over his style of play, while Eddie Howe’s Newcastle currently occupy the final Champions League berth.

Man Utd have come into form in recent weeks with their summer signings starting to produce their best form ahead of the World Cup break.

And Ferdinand has picked Man Utd to definitely be in the top four come the end of the season with no mention of Chelsea or struggling Liverpool making the cut.

Speaking on his Vibe with FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said:  “It will be Arsenal, Man City and Man United – they are the three teams I would put my house on now.

“And then the fourth one I can’t pick. Newcastle could come in and take it.”

Most people would’ve predicted Liverpool to finish in the top four, if not potentially win the Premier League, but they have only won four of their first 12 matches.

It had looked like Liverpool were back on track with recent wins over Manchester City and West Ham but those results were followed up by back-to-back defeats to Nottingham Forest and Leeds.

And when asked about Liverpool’s top-four chances after their loss to Leeds on Saturday, Klopp said: “That is actually not my main worry.

“There are a lot of other worries, but of course I am not that dumb that I don’t know about distances and who is up there.

“But we cannot qualify for the Champions League if you play as inconsistent as we do at the moment. We have to fix that and then we will see where we will end up.

“We know everything is possible, or a lot of things are possible. But for that we have to win football games and we didn’t do that often enough yet.”

And Liverpool legend Graeme Souness doesn’t have much faith in the current team, he told Sky Sports: “Liverpool are a country mile from what they were in the last few years.

“They don’t play with the same intensity. I think in many instances tonight, Leeds were more than a match for what Liverpool have been doing to teams for years.

“Liverpool used to bully teams, their midfield bullied teams. And now they’re being bullied.

“They still had enough chances to win the game, the man-of-the-match is a goalkeeper (Leeds stopper Meslier) – that does tell the story.

“Liverpool are not like the team we have seen for the last five years. They just don’t have the same intensity. They don’t have it in their legs anymore.”
