Man Utd receives eight-word transfer boost from Adrien Rabiot's mum after Liverpool links
Adrien Rabiot is reportedly on "excellent terms" with Manchester United according to his mother and agent Veronique.
A target for Man United since Erik ten Hag's first summer in charge at Old Trafford, a deal for Rabiot was seemingly agreed back in 2022. Wages were said to be on the verge of being finalised, and a $17m transfer fee having been negotiated
However, the midfielder suddenly then pulled the plug on the move choosing to remain with Juventus whom he recently left on a free transfer. The 29-year-old is reportedly drawing interest once against from United, who are also said to be interest in talks.

Veronique Rabiot has been vocal about her son's relationship with Man United in the past, which could see the French international end up at Old Trafford two years after he spurned their advances.
"We are on excellent terms with Manchester United," she told La Gazzetta dello Sport in 2022. She was also asked to comment on the rumors she had demanded nearly $12m in commission fees which potentially ended up ruining Rabiot's move to United in 2022, which she denied profusely.
She said: "All false. United wanted to meet me to illustrate their interest in Adrien, but we never talked about money in detail because he quickly decided to stay in Turin."
And Rabiot himself later confirmed there had been contact with Premier League sides. "It's true, there were contacts with Premier League clubs, but in the end, I was lucky to stay, perhaps it was the best decision," Rabiot explained.
"The Premier League is the most followed league, but I don't think about the future. I am focused on the World Cup. The club and I are in no hurry (over a contract extension), there's serenity so we can consider all options."
While his mother's admissions bode well for any potential negotiations this time around, Veronique has cast a combative figure in the past and could be difficult for United's new INEOS-led boardroom to deal with, reports the Mirror. In the past, she has described her son's contract situation with Paris Saint Germain prior to his Juventus move as that of a hostage. "He is held hostage by PSG," she told L'Equipe (via Goal).
"Soon, it will be dry bread, water, and a dungeon. Adrien is a prisoner! They want him to put on his pyjamas at nine o'clock, before the game, in front of his TV, to go to bed at eleven o'clock!"
Liverpool.com says: "We'll be honest, Veronique Rabiot sounds like an absolute nightmare to deal with, so if Man United do want to move forward in signing the midfielder who is currently a free agent, we wish them the best of luck in dealing with his mother."
