An inability to sign a Man Utd forward has prompted Real Madrid to target a Chelsea winger who’ll barely be able to believe his luck, per reports.

Real Madrid are understood to be on the hunt for attacking additions out wide at season’s end. Carlo Ancelotti does not lack for options at present. Indeed, Vinicius Jr is already a world class operator on the left flank, while Rodrygo and Federico Valverde split time on the right.

Beyond that trio, Los Blancos can also call upon the likes of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. However, both those players may depart over the summer.

Asensio’s current contract will expire at the end of the campaign and as yet, talks over an extension have not borne fruit.

Hazard, meanwhile, has been nothing short of a disaster for Real Madrid.

Long gone are the days of the once-mercurial Belgian dominating defences. Instead, the 32-year-old now struggles with form and fitness and there’s been talk of cancelling his contract in the summer.

If one or both do make way, Ancelotti will be in the market for much needed depth out wide, per Spanish outlet Defensa Central.

One player who has emerged on Real’s radar was Man Utd hotshot Alejandro Garnacho.

However, the Argentine livewire is on the cusp of penning fresh terms that’ll ensure his long-term future remains at Old Trafford.

With Garnacho off the table, Defensa Central claim Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic is fast emerging as a surprise option.

The USA international was a £58m signing from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 and was viewed as the heir to Hazard at the time.

Pulisic has shown flashes of brilliance during his stint at Stamford Bridge. However, an inability to stay fit has prevented him from ever reaching Hazard’s lofty heights.

Pulisic will enter the final 12 months of his contract when the campaign concludes and the summer window is expected to spark something of a Chelsea exodus.

Pulisic to lead Chelsea exits?

Todd Boehly has splashed out well in excess of £500m on new recruits thus far. The flip side is numerous high profile exits need to be sanctioned to ensure they don’t fall foul of Financial Fair Play.

ESPN recently reported Chelsea will cut their losses on Pulisic in the summer window.

There are understood to be ‘no plans’ in place to offer an extension, meaning the summer window is the ideal time to cash in on a player who still retains some value, albeit not the £58m he was signed for.

Defensa Central reckon the American would be a perfect fit for Ancelotti given his explosiveness in tight situations.

Teams like Real often come up against low blocks in LaLiga, something that makes individual brilliance from their front players all the more important.

The Spanish report also claims joining Real Madrid is a ‘dream’ of Pulisic. Whether that’s entirely true or not remains to be seen, though is an early suggestion Pulisic would be on board with the surprise move.

Aside from the obvious prestige joining a club like Real brings, it would also allow Pulisic to continue playing in the Champions League.

Chelsea currently sit a lowly 10th in the Premier League and barring a late-season surge, may not qualify for any European competition next year, never mind the UCL.

Real, meanwhile, sit second in LaLiga and a whopping 14 points clear of fifth placed Real Betis.

All in all, a step up from Chelsea to Real Madrid would be an incredible promotion for Pulisic given how disappointing his Blues career has been of late.
