Manchester United will ‘return’ with a bid for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, having supposedly made an ‘indecent offer’ for the midfielder two years ago.

The Serbia international looks set to leave the Serie A side this summer, with United linked with him for some time.

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito told Rai Sport (via Sport Witness) earlier this week that he rejected an ‘indecent offer of €140m’ for Milinkovic-Savic.

And while Lotito did not reveal which club approached him, TuttoMercatoWeb claim ‘everything suggests’ it was Manchester United who made the bid ‘a couple of seasons ago’.

The Red Devils are still in the picture with Lotito now ready to sell the club’s star asset, who will now reportedly be available for around €70m.

It’s claimed United will ‘return for him’ in the summer, with that claim backed up by Italian agent Giuseppe Bozzo.

“Milinković-Savić could be a Juve blow like Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain, De Ligt, Vlahovic were. He is the missing midfielder and Juventus have some of the most important and solid economic potential in the world. But watch out for Manchester United,” Bozzo told Tuttosport.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has told the United players who don’ care to “f*** off”.

He said: “If you asked Albert Morgan, the kit man, he would have said there would be a lot of cleaning up to do. I would have messed up that changing room for starters. I would have gone nuts.

“You have to question each other, asking questions of each other. Does anyone f****** care? I want to know that those questions are being asked. Because if I smelt that somebody didn’t care, I would be calling them out.”

The former Man Utd defender was then asked if there are more players that don’t care than do, to which he replied: “I would be saying f*** off then, get out.

“I would tell them to not come and play then. Don’t get your boots laced up. If I am smelling that you don’t care – and you are not giving me the answers or the energy that we need to be a team that can at least compete in the games – then don’t come out here.

“You are not only embarrassing yourself, you are embarrassing me. It’s so difficult because you can’t compare. Our changing room was a really stable changing room, built on winning and success, built on the right culture and built on the right standards every day. This changing room is very different.

“It seems like a weak-minded changing room. The results tell you that with the way they let games slip away. You need players, but you need someone driving it.”
