Man Utd and England forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly attracting interest from top clubs across Europe with his contract set to expire in 2023.
After a difficult spell for club and country, the 25-year-old is back enjoying his football this season.
He hadn’t played for England after missing a penalty in the Three Lions’ shootout defeat to Italy in the European Championships final last year.
However, a strong start to 2022-23 with Man Utd saw him make the 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
In his first England appearance since that fateful day against the Italians at Wembley, Rashford scored within a minute of coming off the bench in his side’s 6-2 win over Iran.
Rashford was rewarded with a start in the 3-0 win against Wales on Tuesday night, scoring a brace, including a spectacular free-kick to open the floodgates.
With his scoring touch returning this campaign, Man Utd could face a battle to keep hold of their academy graduate.
While Rashford is a boyhood Red Devils fan, he could be tempted into a new challenge.
According to Fichajes, three of the biggest clubs in world football are interested with the player’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
While he has shone at club level, three goals in as many appearances at the World Cup has seen interest reactivated.
The first club mentioned in the report is Paris Saint-Germain.
The French champions were apparently keen on signing Rashford last summer, but a move failed to come to fruition.
Fichajes state that PSG have always held an interest in the 25-year-old and ‘tried’ to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Sporting director Luis Campos is hoping to exploit the fact Rashford could be available on a free transfer in 2023.
Furthermore, Lionel Messi is also out of contract at the end of 22-23, which the report perhaps forgets when it says ‘PSG wants a new attacker to rotate with Messi, [Kylian] Mbappe and Neymar’.
Next up is Barcelona.
The La Liga giants love a free transfer having signed the likes of Memphis Depay, Franck Kessie, and Andreas Christensen in recent summer windows.
Rashford’s ability to play in various positions is a huge bonus for Barcelona, who, like PSG, have always shown a level of interest in the England international, apparently.
Barca boss Xavi has apparently ‘fallen in love’ with the English forward.
The inevitable exit of Memphis next summer will create space for Rashford, who would compete for a starting berth with Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha.
And alongside Barca and PSG we have Italian outfit Juventus.
The Serie A side are a bit of a mess at the minute with their whole board – including president Andrea Agnelli and vice-president Pavel Nedved – resigning this week.
However, they still continue to be linked with several top players, including Rashford.
Like Memphis and Barca, Juventus are expected to part ways with Angel Di Maria when his contract runs out at the end of 22-23.
His ‘speed and versatility’ is attracting the interest of Juve manager Max Allegri.
Another potential free agent tickling the Italian club’s fancy is Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
Asensio has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this year.
