Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly demanded to take full and immediate control of Manchester United’s transfer business as part of his bid to take over the club.

Ratcliffe’s INEOS group submitted their latest offer to buy the Red Devils on Friday, with some reports suggesting their bid puts a higher value on United than that of Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Jassim’s third and final offer to take full ownership of the club was also submitted last week, with Ratcliffe’s bid only to take a controlling stake.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Ratcliffe’s offer includes a demand for immediate control of transfers from the moment a deal is reached, hopefully over the next month.

However, the Glazers are unlikely to accept demands of complete control of the club until the entire process has been finalised.

The Telegraph report adds that both Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim’s offers ask for some degree of influence from the moment their offer is accepted.

The inclusion of those stipulations appears to suggest that both didders are ready for the possibility of the takeover proves extending beyond the end of the season and into the summer, with the transfer window opening from June 10.

United are expected to be very active in the summer window as they close in on a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League.

A new central striker is very much on Erik ten Hag’s agenda, with Tottenham forward Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen chief among their targets.

Ten Hag admits new No.9 is on the way

Both players are expected to cost in the region of £100million and Ten Hag has admitted that a new No.9 will be incoming.

The Dutchman, when asked about his plans for a striker signing last week, said: “I think everyone knows, it’s not a secret that we in the long term and over the whole season have a shortage of number nines.

“You can approach it in many ways. A typical number nine, (or) Rashford can also play very good as a number nine. Anthony Martial is a great number nine.

“So we have players who can play in that role, but definitely we need some offensive players who are really impact players, quality players who improve the front line.”

As well as new additions, a number of players are also expected to move on this summer.

The likes of Harry Maguire, Dean Henderson, Brandon Williams, Anthony Elanga, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles could all leave to adhere to Financial Fair Play, as reported by Metro.

United are back in action on Thursday night when they face the tough task of a trip to Brighton in the Premier League.
