Manchester City lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the Champions League Final on Saturday night.

Here’s how Giuseppe Muro rated the City players in Porto…

Ederson 5

Came rushing out and was rounded by Kai Havertz for the Chelsea goal but did do well to stand up to Christian Pulisic in the second held when the American shot wide.

Kyle Walker 5

Was taken out the game too easily by Mason Mount in the build-up to Havertz’s goal.

Ruben Dias 5

Has had a brilliant first season at City but they were all over the place at the back at times in the first half.

John Stones 5

Timo Werner caused him problems with his movement on a lacklustre night for City.

Oleksandr Zinchenko 4

Lazy defending to let Havertz run off him for the Chelsea winner which cost City.

Ilkay Gundogan 5

It was a bold call from Pep Guardiola to play as Gundogan as the pivot and leave Fernandinho and Rodri on the bench and it did not work.

Kevin De Bruyne 6

Such a sad end to the season for a special player. Left the field in tears and with a black eye after a horrible collision with Antonio Rudiger after 59 minutes.

Bernardo Silva 4

The game passed him by before he was replaced by Fernandinho in the second half.

Riyad Mahrez 5

Another player who struggled to make an impact but almost scored an equaliser right at the death.

Raheem Sterling 4

A surprise inclusion in the team given his poor recent form, was kept quiet by an outstanding defensive display from Reece James and had a frustrating night before he was taken off with 15 minutes to go.

Phil Foden 5

Tried to make things happen but did not have his best night and had a late effort blocked by Andreas Christensen as City failed to find an equaliser.

Substitutes

Gabriel Jesus (De Bruyne, 59’) 5

Had little impact off the bench.

Fernandinho (Silva, 64’) 5

Brought on to try and bring some order to a ragged City display.

Sergio Aguero (Sterling, 76’) 5

There was to be no fairytale ending to his City career.

Subs not used: Steffen, Carson, Ake, Laporte, Rodrigo, Torres, Mendy, Cancelo, Garcia.
