Manchester United Ace Expressed Delight by Manchester City's Champions League Exit

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial certainly ruffled some feathers on the blue half of Manchester as he took to social media to celebrate Manchester City’s exit from the Champions League.

Manchester City crashed out of Europe’s elite competition on Wednesday as Monaco beat them 3-1 on the night, securing their place in the quarter-finals on away goals with the aggregate score reading 6-6.

Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko headed the winning goal in the final 15 minutes of the match and Martial expressed his happiness through Twitter:

“Yes Baka!,” tweeted the Manchester United man as Monaco held on to progress to the Champions League last eight for the second time in three years. Monaco also eliminated an English team the last time they made the quarter-finals as they defeated Arsenal in the 2013/14 campaign.

Anthony Martial was part of that Monaco team that beat the Gunners. The young forward spent two years at the club and despite appearing to alienate City fans, the Frenchman was clearly pleased with his former side’s excellent result.

Martial also has the chance to progress to a quarter-final draw as Manchester United face FC Rostov on Thursday night at Old Trafford in the Europa League.

The French international is unavailable for the match as he is injured so expect many more tweets should his side progress to Friday’s draw.
