Manchester United increasingly confident of reaching agreement for Raphael Varane; Jadon Sancho to have medical
Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Jadon Sancho and want to follow it up with a move for Raphael Varane.â¨
Sancho is due to undergo a medical with United before going on holiday ahead of the new season.â¨
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will give the England international a three-week break after his involvement in the Euros, but wants to conclude his transfer before that.â¨
United have already agreed a £72.9million deal for the Borussia Dortmund winger.
With the terms of his five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months also in place, all that is left is for the formality of a medical.â¨
Sancho departed from the rest of the England squad after Sunday’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Italy, which saw him fail with a spot kick.
â¨He is keen to rest ahead of his return to the Premier League.â¨United hope to make a minimum of three signings this summer, with a centre back high on Solskjaer’s wanted list.â¨
There is increasing confidence that a deal for Real Madrid defender Varane can be agreed, with the player eager to head to Old Trafford.
But much will depend on Real’s asking price for the 28-year-old, who has a year left on his contract.â¨
The Spanish giants are believed to want around £60m for the centre back, which would eat into the remainder of Solskjaer’s budget and potentially impact his hopes of landing Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.â¨
Kieran Trippier is another player on United’s radar.â¨Funds should be brought in from the sale of Jesse Lingard, who enjoyed an outstanding loan spell at West Ham last season.
