José Mourinho has ordered world-record signing Paul Pogba to concentrate on his Manchester United career and curb his commercial efforts, according to reports.
In January, during United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, dozens of cartoon images of Pogba were seen around the Old Trafford pitch as he released an emoji, which has since been printed on his football boots. Pogba was criticized for his poor performance that day.
According to The Mirror, Mourinho was disgruntled by his star signing’s branding efforts and has told him to cut down on commercial activities.
Mourinho is focused on making a charge for the top-four in the Premier League this season, and sees Pogba as a key figure in his squad.
He will, however, be without the Frenchman when United hosts West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday as he is recovering from a hamstring injury.
United is fifth in the table and four points off fourth-place Liverpool.
