Manchester United eased into the semi-finals of the Europa League as a 2-0 victory over Granada on Thursday night sealed a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Here is how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s players rated in the quarter-final at Old Trafford...

Man Utd player ratings

David de Gea 7

Clearly Solskjaer’s second-choice goalkeeper for the time being. Little to do really, but a top stop late on just before United’s second goal ensured a clean sheet.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7

Almost an ever-present for United this term, his main goal tonight was to keep things tight on the flank -and he did so with predictable ease. One sloppy pass to Kenedy aside, he was dependable and made one key block off a Molina header.

Victor Lindelof 6

Troubled by Herrera in the opening exchanges, a tad fortunate that the Granada forward’s aim was off with multiple chances.

Axel Tuanzebe 6

Given a chance with Harry Maguire suspended. Like Lindelof, found Herrera tricky to track - but was strong up against Soldado.

Alex Telles 7

Bright early doors, his cross for Pogba led to Cavani’s opener - and another cross late on saw Vallejo put the ball into his own net. An able deputy for Luke Shaw on nights like these.

Nemanja Matic 7

Slotted in with Scott McTominay suspended, the Serbian went about his business well in the middle. Sprayed clever passes like a quarter-back from deep, and will rarely have more time on the ball than he did tonight.

Fred 7

A typically tenacious midfield display without ever really being troubled. Coming into the game off the gap of a fine display at Spurs, he’s now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Mason Greenwood 6

Bright in attack but lacking his usual incisiveness. Following his starring cameo against Spurs, he is still treading the line between consistent starter and impact sub.

Bruno Fernandes 6

Went close with a volley that would have been a goal-of-the-season contender. Dragged another half-volley wide.

Paul Pogba 7

Named captain for the night, an impudent backwards header teed up Cavani for the opener. However, he was booked for swinging an arm soon after, and was lucky to avoid a second for a reckless lunge almost immediately after that.

Edinson Cavani 7

Fresh off the back of a superb display at Tottenham, the Uruguayan expertly volleyed home the opener early doors - even if it did come off his shin. Like Pogba, Cavani is hitting form and fitness at just the right time.

Substitutes

Donny van de Beek (Pogba, 45’) 6

Brought on at half-time with Pogba on a booking. Went close with a shot outside the box and put in a decent cross for Greenwood.

Dan James (Cavani, 60’) 6

Back from injury, little in the way of inspiration but cloed down space well and offered an outlet up top to keep Granada on their toes.

Juan Mata (Fernandes, 73’) 6

Good to see the Spanish playnaker back after an absence due to personal reasons. Neat and tidy off the bench.

Brandon Williams (Wan-Bssaka, 82’) N/A

Amad Diallo (Greenwood, 82’) N/A

Subs not used: Grant, Henderson, Fish, Elanga, Rashford, Shoretire
