Manchester United are preparing a £173million (€200m) summer bid for Barcelona superstar Neymar, according to reports.
That figure represents the Brazilian's release clause and a figure the Premier League club are happy to meet, according to Spanish publication Sport.
The newspaper also claims Man Utd will be prepared to pay the star £416,000 per week if they agree a deal.
The club are likely to see a reduction in their wage bill this summer with the possible departure of Wayne Rooney among others, potentially freeing up funds.
Antoine Griezmann is another player who has been linked with a move for Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho looks to build a squad that can compete for the Premier League title.
Though a deal for Neymar appears unlikely, especially if Utd cannot secure Champions League football next season, the striker has recently been full of praise for English football.
"The Premier League is a championship that amazes me," Neymar said last week.
"I like the playing style and the teams. And who knows, someday, I would like to play at it, yes.
"I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool — these are the teams that are always there fighting.
"And then you have high-level coaches like Mourinho and Guardiola. These are coaches with whom any player would like to work."
