Atalanta midfielder Ederson has his eye on a move to England and could find himself in the country sooner than he maybe anticipated with Manchester United reportedly ready to make their move. The Brazilian is currently regarded as one of the best defensive midfielder's in Europe and has been linked with interest from Newcastle United.

The Mags have been mentioned in despatches as being keen to take a look at the Europa League winner for a potential move next summer, although that option may not be on the cards after recent developments.

While the Serie A side are not keen to see a key player depart, they may be waving goodbye sooner than some imagined with Manchester United keen to make the player one of Ruben Amorim's first signings at Old Trafford. Former Newcastle man Dan Ashworth is tasked with overhauling the Man Utd squad for Amorim. and according to reports sees Ederson as one of the key components to doing that.

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are making plans to potentially table an offer ahead of the January transfer window in an effort to get a deal done early. Newcastle have never confirmed their interest in Ederson, with priorities elsewhere as things stand.

He said; “Manchester United are discussing and considering Ederson, a player who is highly valued internally. The club is looking for reinforcement in his position, possibly as early as the winter transfer window. The 25-year-old central midfielder has a contract with Atalanta Bergamo until 2027. One to watch.”

With Atalanta pushing for the Serie A title this season and hopeful of staying in Europe deep into the campaign, it is likely to take a huge offer from Man Utd if they are to get a deal done in January.
