Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay insists he and his team-mates are "behind" Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite a poor start to the season.

Though claiming a spot in the Champions League in a highly encouraging end to the 2019-20 campaign, Solskjaer is now under pressure after a two defeats from three Premier League games, including a humiliating 6-1 home loss to Tottenham.

Reports have claimed talisman Bruno Fernandes has started to question his manager's capabilities and was left highly disappointed by the club's lack of spending in the transfer window.

McTominay has refuted the claims of unrest in the United camp, however, insisting the players trust the backroom staff in its entirety.

"The whole club is behind him," he told TV2 while with Scotland on international duty. "We believe in every word he says, and it’s not just him.

"We trust every word from Mike Phelan, Kieran McKenna, Michael Carrick and the entire support staff."

McTominay was also asked to assess Solskjaer's reign in charge, to which he added: "Fantastic. You see it in the way he has developed me and given me playing time and how I have played. That is a lot to his credit."

United next face a tricky trip to Newcastle when they return to Premier League action on Saturday, which comes just three days before a mouth-watering Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
