Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to rotate for Sunday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Liverpool but will still field a competitive Manchester United side.

United play Liverpool for the second time in the space of a week after a goalless draw at Anfield last Sunday, which kept Solskjaer's side top of the league and three points above the reigning champions.

That lead has since been extended to six points following United's 2-1 win at Fulham and Liverpool's shock defeat to Burnley, their first at Anfield in the league in 68 games.

There has arguably never been a better time to face Klopp's side, but Solskjaer will still make changes for Sunday's tie.

"We'll rotate, that's for sure," the United manager said. "We'll put a decent team together of course, a team I feel can win the game.

"Of course the focus is now on the FA Cup. We know it's a difficult tie. I'm not the best on draws so I think they should try to get someone else in if they want an easy draw."

Victor Lindelof was not part of the match day squad for Wednesday's win at Craven Cottage and has been carrying a back problem in recent months.

But Solskjaer believes that Lindelof will be available on Sunday having rested during midweek and could come in for Eric Bailly in the backline.

"Victor will be fine for the weekend, it was just too quick a turnaround we felt with the travel and with his back," Solskjaer said.

"I wanted to play Eric today when Victor's not ready anyway. Now we've got four days extra. Victor got his treatment this morning and a little bit of light training so he should be ready for the weekend."
