Manchester United told what it will take to complete transfer as Ruben Amorim shows true colours
It’s a quick turnaround in between games for Manchester United as they return to Premier League action on Saturday evening.
The Reds have a chance to quickly bounce back from the 2-0 loss against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night. They take on Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford just three days later (5.30pm kick-off) as they look to get back to winning ways under Ruben Amorim.
Away from the action on the pitch, eyes are also starting to turn to the January transfer window. Amorim will be assessing his squad over the next few weeks as he decides what business needs to be done.

The window opens in just under three weeks time, meaning clubs don’t have too much longer to get their plans into place. It’s therefore no surprise that there are numerous stories about potential incomings and outgoings.
With that in mind, here is a look at a couple of the stories doing the rounds over the last 24 hours. MEN Sport has also given our thoughts on the situations.
£20m transfer prediction
Sunderland would sell goalkeeper Anthony Patterson to Manchester United if they offer over £20 million in the January transfer window, according to pundit Carlton Palmer. It has been reported that United could look at their goalkeeping options in January amid uncertainty over the future of Altay Bayindir.
United have been linked with an interest in Patterson, who has impressed since becoming first choice with Championship side Sunderland.
Speaking to Football League World, Palmer said: "I don't believe that Sunderland will sell Patterson in the January transfer window, unless they get an awful lot of money for him, and they can loan him back until the end of the season.
"That's the only way they'd do the deal. (Andre) Onana's number one at Manchester United, so he's only going to be going there to sit on the bench.
"Obviously he's a talented young keeper, and maybe Man United are looking to the future and saying 'We need to steal a march on other clubs who are going to bring him in to the football club'.
"If they come up with £20m+ for him, I'm sure Sunderland will sell him, but sell him with a clause so they'll keep him until the end of the season.”
MEN Sport says: If Bayindir is to leave in January in search of more game time, then United will have to bring an option in to replace him. But Patterson may not be the man for that role.
If Sunderland are not likely to do a deal that does not involve him going back to the club for the rest of the season, then it doesn’t benefit United in the short term, they need someone who will be able to come in straight away.
Patterson is highly-rated, and £20 million could prove to be a shrewd investment, but he’s one for the future and that’s not what United need right now.
Luke Shaw sent promise
Ruben Amorim has said that Luke Shaw will still be a really important part of his squad, despite suffering an injury set-back. The left-back is yet to start a game for United this season, but did make substitute appearances in the last three games.
It has however been confirmed that he suffered a hamstring injury on the eve of the Premier League clash against Arsenal on Wednesday. Speaking about the set-back, Amorim said: "What I can say since I arrived, I see him in the medical department working a lot in the gym, working a lot on the pitch, we control the load during the games, during the trainings, he was losing weight, so he was doing everything.
"If he continues to do that behaviour, he’s a top, top player and we need him. No matter how long he will need, I will be with him, we will help him to return, not just Manchester United but your national team needs a guy like Luke Shaw, so we are here to help him."
MEN Sport says: The latest injury blow will be a real set-back for Shaw in what has been a horrible time for him in terms of injuries. Having the support of his new manager will be a massive boost to the England man, and Amorim’s public backing of the full-back shows really good man-management.
While a timeline hasn’t been given, both Shaw and Amorim will be hoping that it doesn’t keep him out for too long and that he can have an impact upon his return to fitness.
