Manchester United urged to sign 10-goal Premier League star in Ruben Amorim transfer plea
Mikael Silvestre believes that Manchester United should look at making a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. The Cameroon international has been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League this season, having struck 10 goals and added two assists in 16 matches.
Mbeumo has been integral for Brentford since arriving from Troyes for a club record £5.8million fee in August 2019, helping them win promotion to the top-flight in his second season. Mbeumo has established himself as a Premier League player over the last couple of years and his output has improved this season.
Newcastle were linked with a move for Mbeumo in the summer but Silvestre has claimed that United should be having a look at the wideman ahead of a potential move. Speaking to Norske Bettingsider, former United defender Silvestre said: "What Bryan Mbeumo has been doing for Brentford is a credit to him because things were never going to be easy when it came to replacing the goals of Ivan Toney.

"I do think that top clubs like Manchester United should be keeping a close eye on his progress this season, it’s a big time in his career at the age of 25 to see if he can make that step up."
Silvestre continued to praise Mbeumo, who has helped fill the goalscoring void left by Toney at Brentford this season, suggesting that he has what it takes to impress and shine at United.
"I think it's a decisive season for him personally and I think he'd have the character to be a success at Old Trafford," Silvestre added. "I can't see him going to Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City yet, but he is full of confidence."
United are back in action when they travel to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Thursday. The Reds will be looking to make it to the last four of the competition for the second time in three years, after winning it in 2023 during Erik ten Hag's first season at the helm.
