Manchester United are set to recall their big names for the visit of Aston Villa.

A squad made up of fringe figures and youngsters made the long trip to Kazakhstan for the Europa League clash with Astana, but United’s key men are expected to return for this Premier League clash.

Scott McTominay could be fit to start in midfield, while the three-man defence employed from the start at Sheffield United last weekend seems unlikely to be utilised again.

Bjorn Engels is fit for the visitors, who handed manager Dean Smith a new contract this week.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the clash.

Team news

Paul Pogba has returned to England but is not yet close to a full return to fitness, but the likely availability of Scott McTominay should solve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield questions.

Jota is continuing his recovery from injury for Aston Villa, and this game may come too soon, but Bjorn Engels is available. It is possible that Smith selects an unchanged team after an impressive performance against Newcastle on Monday night.
