Manchester City booked their place in their fourth straight Carabao Cup final with a derby victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford this evening.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won the competition in each of the past three seasons and will now face Tottenham at Wembley in April in a bid to make it four.

John Stones continued his recent return to form by opening the scoring from Phil Foden’s free-kick before Fernandinho sealed the result with a volley late on.

For United, the defeat was a fourth in as many semi-finals under Solskjaer, though the Norwegian insisted afterwards that his side do not have a mental block.
