Marcus Rashford has moved closer to leaving Manchester United after agreeing personal terms with Aston Villa ahead of his proposed loan switch.

The two clubs have also found an agreement in principle for the loan move, which is set to include a buy option. Villa are expected to cover the majority of Rashford’s wages.

He emerged as a target for Villa once Jhon Duran sealed his £65m move to Al-Nassr earlier this week, leaving Emery in need of attacking reinforcements. Villa are also in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over signing Marco Asensio on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Manchester Evening News claim that Rashford's representatives had previously held discussions with Tottenham, West Ham and Barcelona. The Spanish giants, however, were hesitant about forcing through a loan move in the current transfer window.

Rashford has been at United since he was eight years old and is expected to wrap up his move within the next 24 hours after saying his goodbyes to teammates at Manchester United on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

The forward has not played in United's past 12 matches and he was omitted from all but one matchday squad during that sequence.
