Marcus Rashford's potential exit from Manchester United could inadvertently aid Liverpool in its pursuit of some of Europe's most sought-after talents.

The 26-year-old is set to discuss his future with United, as reported by our friends at the Manchester Evening News, and the club hasn't dismissed the idea of selling him. Arsenal has been linked with the England star in the past, but a move to Paris Saint-Germain would be of particular interest to the Old Trafford outfit.

Not only would Rashford's departure from the Premier League mean he couldn't score against the Reds at Old Trafford next season, but it could also help Liverpool's transfer dealings.

PSG is known to be a fan of Rashford, but it's also been connected with several players that Liverpool are chasing. Kingsley Coman and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are just two of the names that have been mentioned in connection with a move to Anfield.

Kvaratskhelia, the Georgia international, impressed during their four Euro 2024 matches before Spain knocked his country out last weekend. He also stated last month that he would make a decision about his future after the tournament.

A choice needs to be made because PSG has offered the player a contract, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis hinted at last week. During an introductory press conference for the club's new head coach, Antonio Conte, he acknowledged that 'somebody' had sent the player a proposal.

"One could call to order, especially because the ECA (European Club Association) president is part of that club," De Laurentiis said. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi chairs the ECA.

De Laurentiis' reputation as a formidable negotiator might just throw a spanner in the works for PSG's ambitions to snap up Kvaratskhelia. With this in mind, the Parisians chiefs might soon shift their focus to Manchester United's Rashford.

While this doesn't automatically place Liverpool in pole position to secure Kvaratskhelia, Napoli's firm stance on keeping him this summer notwithstanding, PSG potentially dropping out of the race for a forward if they land Rashford could indeed work in favour of the Reds as they aim to bolster their frontline before the transfer window shuts.
