Mario Balotelli's Liverpool nightmare may have ended last summer, but the ex-Reds striker is still managing to make headlines.
The 26-year-old was recently revealed to be the best player that former boss Brendan Rodgers claims he coached during his time in charge of the Anfield-based side, despite Balotelli's signing helping to eventually end the Northern Irishman's time at the helm.
There's no love lost between the pair, however, as Balotelli took to his official Twitter account to repay his ex-manager's praise in kind:
Brendan Rodgers you are also the best manager I ever had. Amazing.

The Italy international clearly still has a soft spot for Rodgers, even if the latter's answer on Monday evening seemed a tad tongue-in-cheek!
As such a polarising character, Balotelli has no shortage of followers on his social media account and, naturally, drew a raft of responses to his tweet as a result:
@FinallyMario Ah Mario in fairness you were absolute shite for us. Can't blame him for not being to keen on you.

Some people really need to get a sense of humour, as this particular user helpfully pointed out:
@FinallyMario Too many won't get this Mario. Get it right up ye though! Couldn't lace Jack Aitchisons boots. Why always Brendan?

Keep on fishing, Mario, and they'll keep on biting!
