Mark Robins gets in touch as form book dismissed for Coventry City vs Sheffield United
As well as looking for a new manager, Coventry City also face the challenge of playing Championship high-fliers Sheffield United on Saturday (12.30pm kick-off).
It is now more than two weeks since the sacking of Mark Robins, and the Sky Blues have already proved they remain a force by hitting back to draw 2-2 at current leaders Sunderland last time out.
Rhys Carr was interim boss for that game, and seems likely to be in the CBS Arena dugout again come the weekend as the hunt for a Robins replacement drags on.
City owner Doug King is looking for a head coach to take over, although all the betting points to an out-and-out manager in Frank Lampard being favourite for the job.

The Essential EFL podcast, featuring Sky Sports duo Simeon Gholam and David Prutton, predicted the result of the Sky Blues vs Blades clash - and also took a last look at the Robins era.
Prutton, the former Leeds and Nottingham Forest midfielder, revealed he had been in touch with Robins since his dismissal, adding: “I texted him, and he's having a well deserved rest, he says.”
And as for Robins’ future job prospects, he went on: “He'll be snapped up before you know it. He’s a very, very good man. Ironically, given where Coventry find themselves, he's probably the manager that Coventry need right now.”
But while there might have been some charitable comments where Robins is concerned, the Sky duo were not extending that to his former club.
Focusing on Saturday’s game, Gholam said: “Sheffield United are flying. They're doing really, really well and obviously won the Sheffield derby before the break.
“Coventry have lost just one of their last nine home league games against Sheffield United and they've netted three plus goals in four of those matches.
“So Coventry have a very good record against Sheffield United and Sheffield United are not amazing on the road this season, so what do you think the score is going to be at the CBS arena?”
And it was left to Prutton to deliver the match verdict, declaring: “I think Sheffield United will beat them, and I'm going Coventry 0 Sheffield United 2.”
