Fellaini has become a target for Twitter trolls since his arrival at Old Trafford in the summer of 2013, with United fans hoping boss Louis van Gaal would leave the big Belgian on the bench as his side look to turn around a 2-0 first leg deficit.
Yet Fellaini was always likely to start for United on a night when they were without a host of star players due to injury, with his inclusion sparking an instantly negative response.
