Martin Odegaard picked perfecting his role under Mikel Arteta over celebrating Kai Havertz's goal against Wolves - and it speaks volumes for the Arsenal star's discipline.

Despite the jubilation following Havertz's header from a Bukayo Saka cross in the 25th minute, which set Arsenal off to a winning 2-0 start against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners' captain was notably absent from the on-pitch celebrations.

Instead, Odegaard was seen heading straight to Arteta on the touchline for further instructions. This moment, highlighting both the player's dedication and the manager's attention to detail has been met with adoration by the Arsenal faithful.

The interaction, captured on Arsenal's bench cam and shared on their YouTube channel, left fans marvelling at Odegaard's commitment to the cause. Comments have poured in praising the Norwegian's work ethic, with supporters taking to social media to express their approval.

Praise flowed with one supporter stating: "Love how Odegaard goes straight to Arteta to get further instructions after the first goal." Another chimed in lauding the unity within the squad: "We are celebrating a goal and Odegaard runs to Arteta to get further orders and clarifications. Best cap, best manager, best team ever!!"

Bukayo Saka's performance in enhancing Arsenal's lead drew admiration from his skipper, who said of the England sensation: "There is no roof for this guy," Odegaard stated.

He went on to applaud Saka's endless potential, saying: "It is unbelievable the quality that he has and how professional he is, how much he loves the game and how much he puts into it every day.

"The sky is the limit for him. I am just happy to have him on my team and we have got to help him to improve all the time and push him. I am really happy for him.

In transfer news, with the clock ticking towards the close of the summer window, Arsenal reportedly set their sights on securing Spanish playmaker Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad as a valuable addition to their ranks. If successful, Merino would become the third major signing after David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori.

Additionally, despite seeming keen on bolstering their attacking force, it's uncertain if the north London club will splash the cash for a high-calibre striker before the market concludes on Friday, August 30.
