Masters 2017: Dustin Johnson forced to WD with back injury

World No.1 Dustin Johnson is back from missing the Masters after a freak stairs accident.

Dustin Johnson was forced to withdraw from the Masters on Thursday before starting his first round.

The PGA Tour announced moments before Johnson's tee time that he would be unable to play because of a lingeringback injury from a fall down a staircase Wednesday night.

The world's top-ranked player was in search of his first green jacket.

Johnson, who came into the week having won his last three starts, practiced on the range before his tee timeand appeared ready to play, but after deliberating with Tour officials decided to withdraw.
