Wolves forward Matheus Cunha was delighted with the two “beautiful goals” he scored in the 4-1 win against Fulham.

The Brazilian played a starring role at Craven Cottage on Saturday as Wanderers claimed their first victory on the road since February.

The 25-year-old took his tally to seven goals for the campaign, and the attacker was thrilled with his latest strikes.

“I think they are the best two goals I’ve scored in the same game. They were two very good, beautiful goals in the middle of the game,” said Cunha.

“You don’t think about the quality of the goals (at the time), all you want to do is score and help the team. But, of course, now I’m a little bit calmer, I think it was two unbelievable decisions for me, and I’m happy with these kinds of things.”

The result moved Wolves out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference from Ipswich.

Gary O’Neil’s side started the season with a ten-match winless run in the league, but have now registered back-to-back victories following the 2-0 win over Southampton before the international break.

Cunha is eager for his side to build on their recent upturn in form, adding: “How we started the season was not how we wanted but, of course, we need to keep going like this in the future.

“We did the work, we did the details, and now we’re four games without losing, with two draws and two wins, so we can start to be happy.

“Football is the same in every single group, when the results are not coming, everyone is sad and a little bit more upset.

“But when you start to get the guys going, Rodrigo (Gomes) played, and I think there were a lot of changes there, but that showed the group has a lot of character, everyone’s together.

“It’s much more than just about the first XI, the whole group is together, and when this happens, we can do much more.”
