Camelot Media has set action-adventure film franchise “The Lost Book of Creation.”
Roel Reine (“Line of Fire,” “Halo”) will direct the first film of the planned three-film franchise. Matt Hookings (“Prizefighter”) has written the script and will also star alongside Madalina Diana Ghenea (“Deep Fear,” “House of Gucci”). The film follows archaeologists Slade (Hookings) and Eve (Ghenea) as they set out to find the legendary lost Book of Creation, which is believed to hold the secrets of the universe and the answer to why and how humankind exists.

Hookings and Ghenea will be joined by comedian and actor Bobby Lee (“The Dictator,” “Pineapple Express”) and Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall (“Expend4bles”), who won the 2017 World’s Strongest Man competition.
In 2023, Camelot, the company behind Amazon film “Prizefighter,” featuring Ray Winstone and Russell Crowe, secured financial support from Malta Enterprise, who are responsible for the country’s economic development. Under the terms of the deal, Camelot is operated fully out of Malta, producing a slate of films and co-producing third party projects that will be filmed on the island. It is managing all aspects of production services as well as handling the 40% rebate that Malta offers on qualifying productions.
“The Lost Book of Creation” will be the Camelot’s first project filmed at the new production base, with the film supported by the Malta Film Commission and Screen Malta. The project will shoot in Malta and across Europe and the Middle East at the end of this summer.
Camelot has produced six feature films within the last five years, which also include “The Grand Duke of Corsica” with Timothy Spall.
Hookings said: “I am ecstatic to be bringing this first instalment of a franchise to life with such an incredible team of cast and creatives. ‘The Lost Book of Creation’ is my homage to the classic adventure films that we all remember and love. The script is adrenaline-fuelled, full of action and heart.”
Reine added: “Thrilled beyond words to bring this epic adventure to the big screen visual spectacle created by some very talented collaborators. With the stunning backdrop of Malta and parts of the Middle East we cannot wait to share this cinematic story with the world.”
