Celtic star Matt O'Riley has been ranked as the most valuable player in Scottish Premiership history.

The Denmark international enjoyed a sensational season as the Hoops romped to three-in-a-row and a famous domestic Double. O'Riley plundered 19 goals and contributed 18 assists across all competitions - scooping the Man of the Match award in October's 2-2 Champions League thriller with Atletico Madrid.

And the classy playmaker's display that night even convinced Diego Simeone to table a big-money January offer, which was ultimately booted out by Parkhead chiefs. O'Riley's standout performances both domestically and on the European stages have seen the midfielder's value skyrocket by €7million, based on Transfermarkt data.

While the green-and-white faithful will hope that their star man will stick around for at least another season, it's almost certain that Celts will hold out for a Scottish transfer record fee - in excess of the £25million paid out by Arsenal for Kieran Tierney in 2019.

That would represent a mammoth profit on a player the Scottish champions poached from MK Dons for a bargain £1.5m two-and-a-half years ago. Today, our friends at Transfermarkt have released their end-of-season SPFL market value update. And that sees O'Riley top the list as the most valuable player to have played in the SPFL era (2013-present). You can check out the Top 10 below.
