Mauricio Pochettino says the gap between Tottenham and Fulham "will not exist" during Sunday's FA Cup clash between the two London clubs.

Spurs have been installed as clear favourites to progress, despite narrowly avoiding a shock defeat to League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers in the last round.

The north Londoners remain on the fringes of the Premier League title race while Fulham's hopes of securing a Championship play-off place are still alive.

Slavisa Jokanovic's side are 25 places below their capital rivals in the football pyramid but Pochettino is adamant the two teams will meet as equals at Craven Cottage.

"Fulham are a good team from the Championhip," he told Tottenham's official website.

"When you play in the FA Cup the gap doesn't exist in between the level that you are playing.

"The FA Cup is special and we need to show we can stop that negative way and recover the feeling we had before Liverpool."

Spurs go into the game following back-to-back defeats to Gent and Liverpool, with Pochettino admitting defeat at Anfield has knocked his players' confidence.

Fulham beat a Spurs XI in a pre-season friendly at Hotspur Way last July and Eric Dier is adamant the visitors will be taking nothing for granted this time around.

"There really is no easy game, no matter who you play and we learned that in the last round against Wycombe.

"Whenever you go through a testing situation you have to learn from it and change it.

"We have to make sure we’re at our best, and we will be,” insisted the England international.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has allayed fears surrounding his knee injury and believes he will be fit to face Fulham, but Pochettino is not expected to risk the striker.
