Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira Head UFC Debut in Saskatoon

Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira are each coming off of a win over a Top 10 opponent in their most recent fights, as such, they are being rewarded with a headlining bout opposite each other when the UFC makes its Saskatoon debut in August.

UFC officials on Monday announced the bout in revealing the promotion's first stop in Saskatchewan, Canada. UFC Fight Night 74: Holloway vs. Oliveira will take place on Aug. 23 at the SaskTel Centre, which is a rare Sunday date for the UFC.

A victory in Saskatoon would put the winner smack in the middle of featherweight title talk.

Holloway (13-3) is riding a six-fight winning streak with his most recent victories being Cub Swanson and Cole Miller. Having finished five of the six fights on his current streak has made Holloway one of the hottest properties in the 145-pound division this side of Jose Aldo, Conor McGregor, and Frankie Edgar.

Hot on his heels is Oliveira (20-4, 1 NC), who has won his four most recent contests. His streak includes names like Nik Lentz, Jeremy Stephens, and Hatsu Hioki. Adding Holloway to the list would solidify his claims as a legitimate title contender after having lost back-to-back bouts to Edgar and Swans a couple of years ago.

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo puts the belt that Holloway and Oliveira covet on the line against Conor McGregor at UFC 189 on July 11 in Las Vegas.
