Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are among the drivers to feature on the covers of the upcoming F1 23 videogame.

The official Formula 1 videogame series has been back under the EA banner since 2021, following their purchase of Codemasters, and now the days are counting down to get our hands on the latest instalment, F1 23.

We may need to wait until Wednesday to watch the trailer, but the wait is over to see which drivers will grace the covers for this year’s game.

It is of little surprise to see Mercedes’ seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton, the driver with the most race wins, poles and podiums in Formula 1 history, taking his place on the cover of the Standard Edition.

And he will be joined by two drivers who many believe have what it takes to emulate Hamilton in becoming Formula 1 World Champion in the future.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will appear on the Standard Edition cover, with McLaren’s Lando Norris joining Leclerc and Hamilton in that honour.

Of course, that is not the only version of the game, there is also the Champions Edition, which features a whole host of extra goodies for the player.

You probably do not need more than one guess to work out which driver is the standalone figure on the cover of that edition.

Yes, the two-time World Champion and F1 2023 Championship leader Max Verstappen, who is also an ambassador for EA Sports, takes pride and place on the Champions Edition cover.

“To be on the cover is of course an amazing opportunity and something I’m very proud of,” he tweeted in reaction to the reveal.

While the official release date for the game has not yet been confirmed, it is reportedly set to arrive around mid-June, with the trailer landing on the official F1 website come 3 May.

These are busy times indeed then in the world of Formula 1, with the real-life racing resuming at the upcoming weekend for the Miami Grand Prix.

Verstappen will be hoping to return to winning ways in Miami on 7 May, a week after he saw Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez take the sprint and Azerbaijan GP win in Baku.

Perez has now narrowed the gap to Verstappen at the top of the Drivers’ standings to six points.
