Mel C: I’m doing everything in my power to make another Spice Girls tour happen

Mel C has hinted at another Spice Girls tour next year.

The 46-year-old revealed the girl group, made up of Geri Horner, 48, Mel B, 45, and Emma Bunton 44 had the most “incredible” time last year when they did a nationwide arena tour – with Victoria Beckham, 46, noticeably missing from the line-up.

Now, Sporty Spice has said she will do “everything in my power” to get the Spice Girls back on the road for their 25th anniversary next year.

Speaking on Lorraine, she explained: “It would be rude not to!

“We had the most incredible year last year, playing stadiums all across the UK and Ireland and we have got to do it again.

“We talk about it all the time.”

However, Mel C added that the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has seen many artist delay tours, could see celebrations for the 25th anniversary put on hold.

“This year has thrown everything into chaos,” she said.

“I think a lot of the big artists that were planning to perform this year will move to next year.

“So sadly it probably will delay the Spice Girls getting back on stage, but I’m doing everything in my power to make that happen.”

Mel C, who has since had an impressive solo career since the Spice Girls split in 2000, added that she believes it’s also the right time for the girl band’s impressive story to become a blockbuster.

“I think it’s the perfect time, really,” she said.

“When you look back at last year, the nostalgia - so many people came to the shows and they were reliving their childhood.

“I think the music and the story of the Spice Girls, the beginnings of it, everything that happened in between, I think it’s perfect subject matter for one of those movies.”
